Royal Albert - American Beauty

My all time favorites from Royal Albert - American Beauty Pattern, produced by Thomas C. Wild & Sons, Ltd. in the Staffodshire Potteries area in England.   Finally this gorgeous beautiful pattern Teaset is part of  my collection.

Royal Albert American Beauty, with its lush pink roses, is an all time favorite pattern.

It has a brushed gold scalloped edge and a georgous pink rose pattern.  The stamp contains the words "Bone China" which replaced "Crown China".
The Crown China Backstamp dates from 1927. The Bone China Backstamp dates from 1941 to 1998

This is a gorgeous pattern with distintive pink roses.  The set is trimmed in gold with slightly scalloped rims. This is the large teapot measures approx 6 1/4 inches high (not including the lid) and about 9 and 1/2 inches from spout to handle.

Exquisite Royal Albert bone china demitasse cup and saucer in the American Beauty pattern decorated with colorful pink roses on a solid white designed background with rich gold trim.  Additional gold bands at the foot and handle of the cup.  Cup measures 2 1/2" tall x 2 1/4" in diameter, saucer measures 5" in diameter.

This sugar bowl is slightly smaller in size but the creamer pot is the normal  size.  Still have the rich flower pattern decorating both the sugar bowl and creamer pot.

Royal Albert - Haworth

Another Royal Albert collection.  This stunning pattern is known as Haworth. This pattern was introduced in 1982 and discontinued in 2001. From googling, this "Haworth" pattern was named after the village of Haworth on the North Yorkshire moors , in the north of England - famous as the home of the Bronte family at Haworth Parsonage.

The pattern comes with a design of small soft white florals with moss green leaves resemble apple blossoms and cover the sparkling white china with the heavy gold trim. All the pieces are nicely gilded on the edges and on the feet.

The  Coffee Pot lid has it own perculiar shaped handle. Some thought has gone into designing this item. The Coffee Pot handle design enables a strong grip and also has a nice shaped. The Coffee Pot was designed with a curvy shaped and made it looks sexy...

This is a fancy shaped creamer,  have fancy feet and the creamer is 3 3/8" high and 5 1/4" handle to spout.

Nice shape cup and saucer

Happy viewing

PML TeaSet - Bunga Padi

I am sharing another Made in China Vintage Teaset (PML) known as Bunga Padi (Paddy Flower in english).  This pattern is called Bunga Padi because there is a clear resemblance of Paddy Flower added to the pattern and I think no one knows the name of the flower in the pattern.  I guessed that was how the pattern ended-up with 'Bunga Padi'.
Paddy

The Paddy pattern clearly can be seen on the cup

This is my first PML that I am able to make up into the standard 22pcs TeaSet.  It took me about 3 months to complete the collection.  The Creamer Pot is the last item found.

The uniqueness about this pattern, is the black/dark grey color flowers on white porcelain with edges are gilded with silver lining. A simple design but still able to give the classic look.

PML Teapot - Bunga Kangkung

The Teapots I am sharing in this entry is a collection of Teapots with a flowery pattern known as Bunga Kangkung aka BK or Water Spinach Flower.  Tableware of "Bunga Kangkung"  is a "must have" and one of the popular pattern sought after my Malaysian Vintage Porcelain collectors  This pattern was widely used in most of the households in Malaysia for everyday used before the 70s. Made in China and from what was told there were more than 100 companies producing these products during the prime times.   That was the reason for the difference in the color tone of the flower, the sizes of the flowers, shapes and designed for similar items.  These can be seen by the different back-stamped of each items.

"Scientific name for Kangkung is Ipomoea aquaticaIpomoea aquatica is a semiaquatic, tropical plant grown as a leaf vegetable. It is found throughout the tropical and subtropical regions of the world, although it is not known where it originated. This plant is known in English as water spinach, river spinach, water morning glory, water convolvulus, or by the more ambiguous names "Chinese spinach", "Swamp cabbage" and "Kangkong" in Asia.  Occasionally, it has also been mistakenly called "kale" in English, although kale is a different plant belonging to the Brassica oleracea Acephala Group and completely unrelated to water spinach. It is known as phak bung in Thai, trokuon in Cambodia and kangkung in Malay and Indonesian.

The vegetable is a common ingredient in Southeast Asian dishes. In Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, the leaves are usually stir-fried with chile pepper, garlic, ginger, dried shrimp paste (belacan/terasi) and other spices." (extracted from Wikipedia)

Notice the uniqueness of each pot in the shape, the handle, the spout and also the lid.
They are just lovely in shape and design.

This is known as 'Teko BK Bulat'.. Bulat is referring to the rounded shape of the Teapot.
The flower of the BK is smaller.

This is another  version of the rounded Teapot 'Teko BK Bulat' but the flower is bigger.

This is a miniature teapot with about 3" high from bottom to the top of the lid.  The color of the flower is more purplish.

This Teapot is known as 'Teko BK Siku' or the angle Teapot because the shape of the handle.

The body of this Teapot shaped like an egg, so this Teapot known as 'Teko BK Telur'.  The flower is big and prominently printed on the Teapot.

This is known as Aladdin as the shape of the handle and the spout is similar to the shape of Aladdin lamp

Souvenirs TeaPots

These sets of TeaPots are categorized as "Souvenirs TeaPots" due to reason of the TeaPots  been purchased and also the TeaPots has an imprint of the location/site/city/place.  Not all the places I visited have TeaPots sold as souvenirs but if I managed to come across them I will definitely get one no matter what shape and form there are in as long as it is a shape like a "TeaPot" and contains the location printed on the TeaPot.

The above is a miniature TeaPot bought during my family visit to Aberdeen, Scotland.  The timing of our visit coincide with the date of the well known Highland Games.  Not missing the opportunity of a lifetime, we drove to Braemar for the games.  Enjoyed every moment of it.

This is from Cameron Valley, Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.   Cameron Valley or Bharat Tea Estate is located at the main road going up to Tanah Rata from Ringlet. It has great views of the estate from the tea and souvenir shop located around 5 km up from Ringlet on the main Tanah Rata road. The Bharat Group of Companies established in Cameron Highland since 1933, today comprises of a total of eight companies, of which Cameron Bharat Plantations is the most renowned. It is the second largest tea producer in Malaysia, producing Cameron Valley Tea which is synonymous with exquisite highland tea.

This TeaPot is from a visit to Kuching, Sarawak.  It is definitely a TeaPot shape with a proper lid but unfortunately the spout is all sealed.  This is a miniature and the design of the teapot is what usually seen on Sarawak Pottery.  Sarawak is a state full with local cultures.

The final teapot for this entry contains the image of Big Ben,  bought it during one of the business trip to London.

Royal Albert - Moss Rose

Royal Albert has been dedicated to English grace, elegance, and romance since Victorian times. The story of Royal Albert stretches back over one hundred years to a small pottery business established by Thomas Wild, in Longton - one of the six towns that make up Stoke-on-Trent, "The Potteries".  Established in 1896, Royal Albert is inspired by everything English- the country garden and England's national flower, the rose.

This is my first Royal Albert Vintage collection, a 22 pieces Tea Set consists of 1 large Teapot, A pair of Creamer and Sugar bowl, 1 cake plate, 6 pairs of cup and Saucers and 6 side plates   Backstamp "Moss Rose @1956 Royal Albert LTD.  The design has a delicate shades of pinks, greens, blues, with a white backgound.

This beautiful cup and saucer set of  Royal Albert Moss Rose has a delicate gilded handle and gilded
edges on the rim and handle of the cup and on the saucer. The cup is footed and has a delicate spray of moss roses on the inside of the cup as well as around the outside.

This Moss Rose pattern comes with a gorgeous 2pt TeaPot.   The TeaPot is on the Montrose Shape with 9.5" wide from spout till to the end of the handle and 7.5" tall.

Together with the Teapot, there is a large creamer pot measure at  3 7/8" from bottom to the rim and  the width is 4 7/8" from spout to the back of the handle.  As for the open sugar bowl, the measurement is 2 3/8" tall and 4 3/8" width (across the rim).
